Wedding Trends Post Covid-19

31 Jan 2021, 18:17 GMT+10

We can all agree that this year has been nothing short of interesting. From being forced to stay inside to online classes, things have been strange. Weddings were even cancelled at some point! Thankfully, we're at the end of the year, and things are looking brighter for 2021. At the very least, we're all learning to live alongside the pandemic while staying safe.

The fact that they'll be changes and new trends to watch out when it comes to weddings in 2021 is not news. But which of those should brides pay attention to? We've chronicled some of them in the paragraphs below. So, grab a seat, relax and let's talk about wedding trends post Covid-19.

Digital Guests

Online socialization and communities have been greatly normalized during this pandemic. So be ready to make some allowances for it as a bride during your wedding. Some of your guests may not be able to make it to your celebration due to travel restrictions. A great way to keep them in the loop and happy is by live streaming. Your elderly relatives and loved ones who you want to keep safe could also celebrate with you through this new and growing trend.

Bold Fashion Choices

Honestly after the lethargy of the pandemic, we're sure you'll be jumping at a chance to dress up. Most future brides are doing the same. So, feel free to go on the adventurous side when it comes to your wedding fashion. Your guests will love the chance to dress up too.

One particular trend we'll probably be seeing a lot of is Boho bride fashion. It was growing in popularity before the pandemic started and we expect it to continue. The colorful and beautiful fashion options make it too attractive to pass up now.

Creative Wedding Decor

Just like with fashion, couples have had lots of times to think about their wedding details. So, we can expect a move away from the usual boring wedding elements to something more fun. Creativity will be the order of the day, and rightfully so.

We know we'll be seeing lots of DIY come into play, and we're excited about what this will mean in terms of decor. To save costs, you could even hire a DIY company to ship your uplighting rental straight to you. Much better than having to hire a local expensive vendor if you ask us.

Wedding Food Trends

This pandemic has seen a mix of organic and healthy food shine through. At the same time, comfort food has been a go-to for many couples. We've also seen a departure from the pricey wedding cakes with lots of leftovers at the end, to desserts.

So, for brides to be, this is the time to get unique and personal with your menu. Do not be afraid to customize and serve food that represents you and your partner. Signature cocktails and really thoughtful wedding menus are some of the ways that you can spice up your wedding food post Covid-19.

Party Hard

2021 has been quite a storm, so we know couples will grab this chance to party. You should too. Party with your loved ones and party hard. The fact that you'll probably have only those most important to you on your guest list will make this even easier.

That way, you can let down your hair and have a great time without fear of judgement. You could learn a Tiktok dance, have grazing tables available, and late-night snacks served to sustain everyone. When you rent uplighting it adds to your party atmosphere. Just make sure you and your guests have as much fun as you can.

A Different Registry

As a couple, we're sure that this year has put a lot of things into perspective for you. So, it's fine if your registry list does not look like the regular registry list many couples are known for. For this year, lots of couples have been tilting towards experiences as opposed to material things on their lists.

We've seen home starter funds, funds for a pet and even a honeymoon. We've also seen donation links to charities that are dear to people's hearts. Whatever you are passionate about, you can go ahead and include in your registry for your upcoming wedding. Your guests will completely understand and still be excited to pitch in where they can.

So, which of these trends do you think you'll adopt for your post Covid-19 wedding? Just remember that your wedding is about your happiness and that of your partner. Whatever ideas and trends you adopt should work hand in hand with that. Best of luck!
